On the other hand, for a machinery shed, your primary concern may be access and how easy it is to move things in and out. Is there uneven terrain that will impede access?

Steel sheds with thick walls and solid framing are resilient so long as they're protected by galvanising or have other protective coverings. It's crucial that the shed can withstand the elements with little maintenance. A benefit of metal is that it naturally resists pests such as termites.
